Welcome to the shop for The Little Bird Designs!

I love to sew & create custom items and this shop is the perfect place to get your hands on them!

Growing up in a creative family, I was taught to sew at a young age. My mother would create us gifts year after year and I quickly began to not only enjoy watching her, but sewing alongside her! Sewing, quilting and embroidery are just a few of the creative arts that have been passed down throughout my family. I am so grateful for the wisdom my Great Grandparents have passed onto me. My business started shortly after my son was born because I couldn't find a trendy diaper bag. This love for bags has grown to something so much more exciting than I ever expected!

Your Little Bird items are made in my home studio in Peterborough Ontario. I try to source all supplies locally at small town quilt shops and leather is purchased at Whetungs Ojibwa Centre in Curve Lake Ontario or saved from the landfill. Every item I create is made with extra attention to detail so even the interior of your bag gets the same attention as the exterior!

The Little Bird Designs is more than just a handmade shop, it's also an excellent resource to learn new techniques, patterns and to meet fellow handmade businesses. If you haven't been to my blog, you should check it out and maybe pick up something new to try! Be sure to check out my Calendar of events if you are local. Every month I teach numerous classes at The Quilter's Bolt in Millbrook ON.

I LOVE to thrift shop and have an obsession with vintage train cases and have an ongoing love for vintage thread and zippers! I rarely leave a fabric store without 5 or even 10 zippers, it has actually become a problem! I have a serious love for all things Tula Pink, Pat Bravo and Bari J! I am a fabric hoarder afterall ;)

Custom requests are my absolute favourite thing to make. If you have a special event coming up or need an item in memory of a loved one, send me a message and I can get that special item made for you!
